Step-by-Step Instructions

Log in to FamilyTreeDNA

Visit familytreedna.com and sign in to your account using your kit number and password.

Go to FTDNA login

Go to your account

Once logged in, navigate to your account settings or dashboard. Look for your profile icon or name in the top right.

Find download option

Look for "Download Raw Data," "Download DNA Data," or check under "Settings" > "Account Settings" for data download options.

Select autosomal data

If given options, select "Autosomal Raw Data" or "Family Finder Raw Data" for the file type DNArcade needs.

Download the file

Click to download. FamilyTreeDNA provides a .csv file, often compressed in a .zip archive.

Note: The file may be named with your kit number for reference.

Upload to DNArcade

Bring your downloaded file to DNArcade's upload page. We'll recognize it as FamilyTreeDNA data automatically.

Go to Upload page
Done!

Pro Tips

  • •Make sure you download "Family Finder" or "Autosomal" data, not just Y-DNA or mtDNA results.
  • •FamilyTreeDNA provides detailed SNP data perfect for DNArcade analysis.
  • •If you have multiple kits, ensure you're downloading the correct one.

Privacy Protected

Remember: DNArcade never stores your raw DNA file. It's processed securely and deleted immediately. Only your fun character stats are saved.
